The Embodiment Experience is a comprehensive mental health and wellness program that honors the full human experience —mind, body, and story— to help people move out of survival mode and reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more integrative and meaningful way.

When persistent and severe distress goes unchecked, it not only affects our mind, but also wreaks havoc on our nervous system. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed and isolated, making it ever more challenging to cope with life's various stressors and care for our holistic health.
There’s a lot of talk about “mental health” these days
— but what does it actually mean?
Let's face it, the concept of mental health (and mental healthcare, for that matter) is something of a paradox. After all, determining a person's psychological state typically hinges on the biased perspectives of others. This includes clinical practitioners who spend a concerningly brief amount of time with their clients (typically 50 mins per week) yet rely on mutual trust, meaningful connection, and inadequate observation to not only accurately diagnose but also affectively treat individuals suffering from psychological distress. Needless to say, this woefully perilous process is not only insufficient, it has become part of the problem.
At the very least, proper assessment of a person's "mental health" should take into account their neurological functioning, intellectual capacity, developmental milestones, trauma history, genetic predispositions, cultural influences, learned behaviors, ingrained belief systems, nervous system functioning, hormone levels, gut health, and environmental factors. Add to that the ever-changing complexities that accompany everyday life -including the aging process, one's economic status, personal relationships, and access to support systems- and one could argue that the concept of sanity is more of a living phenomenon than it is "soundness of mind" (Webster's Dictionary). After all, if life itself hasn't made each one of us a little crazy, are we even paying attention?!
Nevertheless, in a society that prizes conformity and grows more divided by the day, it’s no surprise that we continue to mistake emotional suppression for strength. But this belief comes at a cost. It pushes people to doubt themselves and label others, referencing completely normal reactions to relentless stress — such as moodiness, disorientation, and exhaustion — as signs of personal weakness or illness. However, these reactions aren’t failures. They’re simply human responses to a culture that demands endurance while offering little room for honesty or rest.

Hi! I'm Jessica Leigh, Integrative Mental Health Practitioner and Founder of The Mental Wellness Movement. As a formerly practicing Mental Health Counselor who specialized in the clinical treatment of complex trauma, I have become painstakingly aware that there is not a "one size fits all" process to help people heal from deep-seated psychological and emotional wounds. For this reason, I opted to walk away from my role as a diagnostic mental healthcare provider to build a holistic mental healthcare platform that's integrative and comprehensive enough to help my clients effectively overcome the long-term effects of complex trauma.
This strategy has come to be known as The Embodiment Experience, a loosely guided healing journey rooted in personalized care, collaboration, and self-empowerment strategies that generate long-term, sustainable wellness.

TEE'S 4-STEP PROCESS
It all starts with a Personal Wellness Plan that we'll work together to create based on your unique needs, goals, and interests.
From there, we'll meet regularly via video conference (note: In-person sessions may be available, depending on your location and circumstances) where I'll come alongside you in support capacity -taking on a variety of roles such as advocate, educator, coach, and guide.
Through intentional conversation, somatic practices, and trauma-aware education, we'll explore the root causes of your distress and build the tools needed to help you feel empowered, self-regulate, and heal from the inside out.
Lastly, I'll help you develop a dynamic network of practitioners, service-providers, and community partners that will strengthen and support you through life's various challenges, so that you can move past the healing stage and begin to thrive!

Bridging the gap between talk therapy and self-care, TEE is an interactive, curiosity-led program that caters to the mind, body, and spirit, helping to restore a sense of wholeness back into your life so that you can heal organically and sustainably.

Healing happens in the body, which is why TEE is infused with a variety of holistic healing modalities, such as breathwork, intuitive movement, and reflective practices that support nervous system repair and self-integration.

Whether through one-on-one sessions or shared learning spaces, TEE promotes the power of community and uses co-regulating techniques to support the healing process.
